The first and the device that started it all - Samsung Galaxy Note 1 - gets Android 4.1.2 update

The first phablet in the world and the device that started the phablet craze, the Samsung Galaxy Note (Note I), finally starts receiving the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update it truly deserves. According to UV, the update is being released currently only to users in Hong Kong and Taiwan, but owners of the Galaxy Note should be ready for theirs too since, at least, the update has started showing up. For those who are in HK and in Taiwan, the update can be downloaded via Samsung Kies.

Samsung's Galaxy S III, Note II, and the Galaxy Note 10.1 are the most eco-friendly mobile devices in the world

Collectively known as the Galaxy Trio, Samsung's three flagship (if you may) Android devices are the most eco-friendly mobile devices in the world. Why? Because they are the only devices in the world that hold the most environmental certifications. The eco-friendliness of these devices are measured by how the devices are produced. We all know that it is during the production of these devices that carbon emissions are huge. But Samsung has that covered for 3 years now. Since, Samsung is one of those electronics company who actually manufacture their own devices they have control over how their production plants work. With that advantage, Samsung developed a way of producing these three (at least) devices in such a way that the factories that make them produce the least amount of carbon dioxide gas.

The Samsung Galaxy Fame

And here is the Samsung Galaxy Fame, the second of the two devices that Samsung announced. Unlike the Galaxy Young, the Galaxy Fame device actually sports a front camera. You can actually tell the difference between the two devices by simply looking at them. The Galaxy Young sports a boxier shape while the Galaxy Fame sports a much curvier top and bottom, aside from the very obvious front facing camera. The Galaxy Fame also packs more specs than the Young but they are too minute to be even noticed.

Samsung announced two new budget-friendly smartphones for 2013. One of these is the Samsung Galaxy Young, a small and stylish Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running low-end smartphone that comes with a dual-SIM version (Galaxy Young Duos). This is probably Samsung's first low-end smartphone that sports Android 4.1 as the base OS (together with the Galaxy Fame). Anyway, I still do not have anything about the devices' actual date of launching neither their pricing, as always. We will just have to wait when these devices will be launched in specific regions of the world.

Samsung's MWC 2013 invitations assures us of new Galaxy devices!

The world's largest showcase of mobile devices, the Mobile World Congress, is just around the corner. From Feb. 25 - 28, Samsung will be there in Barcelona, Spain for the event and will be showing us their new Galaxy devices (or device). If rumors hold water, then the Korean-giant won't unveil yet to the world their 2013 Android flagship device (the Galaxy S IV) which is rumored to be announced by the phonemaker in April.

The Samsung Galaxy Express

Samsung has announced, what I believe is their second device in 2013. The Samsung Galaxy Express adds to Samsung's already huge family of 4G LTE capable device. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM. Like most Samsung devices that are unveiled via a press release, the Galaxy Express does not have with it the day when it will be launched nor the price it will be wearing. The Samsung Galaxy S III finally gets its Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update! Download now!

The time Samsung announced that the they will be bringing to the Galaxy S III the features found on the Galaxy Note II like that amazing, multi-window feature, every SGS III owner, I believe, was excited. Yesterday, a lot of people from my circle have posted on social networks that they already have the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update on their devices which puts Samsung's promise into reality. Now, the Galaxy S III is at part (software-wise) with the Galaxy Note II with this update. Both devices are already on this version of the OS since the SGN2 was updated a week or so ago. So, SGS III owners who still did not update, start downloading, this probably is a 260MB download like the Note II's so I suggest you do the downloading either via WiFi or on your PC with Samsung Kies.

Philippines! Samsung Mobile Philippines has announced that the little brother of the Galaxy S III will be available in the country by next week. The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini, announced last year is really a mini. Sporting a much smaller screen and a less powerful CPU, the device is perfect for the average smartphone user. Priced at Php 14,990, the Galaxy S III Mini should perfectly fit your budget.

Samsung sells 100,000,000 Galaxy S smartphones!

Yup! Samsung has sold 100,000,000 Galaxy S devices all around the world! You might get this wrong so I'm going to make things clearer. Samsung, the Korean-giant slowly taking over the mobile world, has sold its 100,000,000th GALAXY S device. The Galaxy S line of smartphones by Samsung is the company's Flagship Android smartphone. So, when news tells you so, it basically means that if you combine all the global sales of the Galaxy S (the first ever Galaxy S smartphone), the Galaxy S II, and the Galaxy S III you'd be arriving at 100,000,000. A minute after you read this, that'd probably be 100,000,001. According to Samsung's press release, the break down of this number is as follows...

Samsung announced the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa an 8-core applications processor

The world's best maker of applications processors has done it again. After being able to spit out the best mobile processor in 2012 with the Samsung Exynos 4 Quad (found in the Galaxy S III and the Note II), the Korean-giant has announced at CES 2013, the next iteration of their Exynos line of processors, the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa. Yup, Octa which means? 8-cores.
