Samsung Galaxy Gear will be compatible with the Galaxy S IV, Note II and more

Samsung's first attempt of a SmartWatch, the Galaxy Gear, will be compatible with more devices aside from the Galaxy Note III. This isn't news actually because Samsung announced this back when they were introducing the Gear, Note III, and the Note 10.1 (2014) but anyway, since Samsung posted a presser about it probably because a lot of reports said that the Gear will not be compatible with other Galaxy devices. Samsung on their presser, said that the Galaxy Gear support will come with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to other Galaxy devices.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update starts rolling out to the Galaxy S IV

According to SamMobile, the LTE variant of the Samsung Galaxy S IV (I9500) has started receiving the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. From the same report, the update is first pushed in Russia and the Indian market should also be expecting it. The update will first be available to those Galaxy S IVs that are SIM-free (not from a carrier). The update will come with Samsung KNOX and of course, support for the Galaxy Gear among other features that will be added onto the device (like reading mode). If you are a proud owner of the smartphone and bears the same model number then there is no harm in actually checking if the update has arrived on your device.

Samsung Galaxy Round - world's first device to incorporate a curved HD Super AMOLED display

You probably have already heard a lot about Samsung and even LG launching their first curved smartphones within this year, right? Samsung's display displays division has already announced earlier this year that they will be mass producing their Flexible Super AMOLED displays within this year. Samsung has solidified that fact by announcing the world's first mobile device to incorporate the Flexible AMOLED display, the Samsung Galaxy Round. The device, which I believe, is basically the Galaxy Note III just with a different screen, this time a curved one and with a curved display comes a curved design aesthetics of the hardware itself. The phablet or smartphone, whatever you would like to call it, sports a 5.7" HD Super AMOLED display, runs on Android (probably 4.3 Jelly Bean9), sports the same leather backing the Note III has, and also sports a microUSB 3.0 port (as seen in photo). The Galaxy Round is expected to be available in South Korea starting tomorrow and for the rest of the world, Samsung did not say anything. They probably are still testing the water on how the market will be accepting this device first in their home turf.

Samsung ChatON reaches 100 million users

Samsung has announced that their very own instant messaging service, ChatON, has reached 100 million users around the world. Samsung ChatON is a service launched by the Korean giant back in 2011. Unlike BBM, back then, and iMessage, this service or app is available in all platforms you can probably think of. From Android to BlackBerry and even on your very own PC, ChatON aims to be able to give its users the ability to chat/communicate with anybody regardless of the phone or device he/she is using.
