Samsung has made a very neat infographic image of their Galaxy S line of devices. From the beginning up to the newest Samsung Galaxy S V which was announced just a few days ago. I am a Samsung fanatic, apparently, and wants to emphasize that the image above clearly shows how Samsung actually upgrades their Galaxy S. Unlike some other phonemakers in the market, they actually do incremental upgrades while Samsung here upgrades their devices as if there is no tomorrow.

Samsung starts rollout of Android 4.4 KitKat update to the Galaxy S IV

Samsung has reportedly started rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update to their 2013 flagship Android smartphone, the Galaxy S 4 (GT-I9500). The update is said to be rolling out in Russia as you are reading this blog post. As with all Android updates not every region/country will get it at the same time but the software is being rolled out in phases across the globe. But it does no harm in checking for an update just tap through Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Check for updates.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update starts rolling out to the Galaxy S IV

According to SamMobile, the LTE variant of the Samsung Galaxy S IV (I9500) has started receiving the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. From the same report, the update is first pushed in Russia and the Indian market should also be expecting it. The update will first be available to those Galaxy S IVs that are SIM-free (not from a carrier). The update will come with Samsung KNOX and of course, support for the Galaxy Gear among other features that will be added onto the device (like reading mode). If you are a proud owner of the smartphone and bears the same model number then there is no harm in actually checking if the update has arrived on your device.

Samsung announced 5 more colors of the Galaxy S IV

I deliberately did not watch Samsung's Premiere Event last night because I was very sleepy and all. Anyway, here is one of the many things they announced yesterday. The Samsung Galaxy S IV will be getting five new colors namely Blue Arctic, Purple Mirage, Red Aurora, Brown Autumn, and Pink Twilight. Currently, the Red Aurora of the Galaxy S IV is being sold by AT&T in the US and the Blue Arctic is being sold in Japan. But do not expect that all of these colors will be available everywhere. Base on experience, Samsung seems to select the markets where they will be selling all of the colors of one specific device. In the Philippines, a differently colored S III was as rare as a blue iPhone.

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 is the world's first TCO certified smartphone

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 is the world's first smartphone to receive the TCO Certification. TCO Development is an independent body that gives out awards or certifications to devices that meet their sustainability in the IT industry. TCO Development is a young group that was, I believe, created 15 years ago. In those 15 years or so, the Galaxy S 4 is the first smartphone to have received their certification. 

Samsung sold 10 million Galaxy S 4s in 1 month

Samsung, on their Samsung Mobile Press site, announced that their 2013 Android flagship device has reached the 10 million units sold mark within 1 month from the time it became available. With that announcement, the Galaxy S 4 set a new record being Samsung's fastest selling Galaxy S ever. The first Galaxy S did great in terms of sales then came the Galaxy S 2 which sold faster than the S1 and yet the S3 stole the crown from the S2 as Samsung's fastest selling Galaxy S device ever and today the S4 stole it yet again from its predecessor. The Galaxy S 4 is the world's first device to sport Samsung's very own full HD Super AMOLED display. This news goes to show that Samsung is really the king of Android, which HTC wore for years. HTC on the other hand announced that they have already sold 5 million HTC Ones.

Google announced a Pure Android Samsung Galaxy S 4

During Google I/O 2013's first day, Google announced that they will be selling a very delicious smartphone starting June in the US. The smartphone is Samsung's 2013 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S IV. And I know sammyfans, it's not that we don't like TouchWiz but Android in itself is great! And yes, Google will be selling the device, rumored to be the Galaxy S IV Nexus Edition, to run on Android's Stock OS (no UIs whatsoever). 

USA: Sprint and AT&T officially starts selling the Samsung Galaxy S 4!

Sprint and AT&T starts selling the Samsung Galaxy S 4!  Sprint and AT&T, I believe, are the first carriers anywhere in the world (?) to sell the superphone. In the US, they are the firsts and  you can easily get the links for online purchases of the Galaxy S 4 over at Samsung Mobile USA's Facebook Page. AT&T is offering the 16GB Galaxy S 4 for just $199.99 with a 2-year contract. Sprint on the other hand is offering it at $149.99. Samsung releases Galaxy S IV ads forgoes mocking the iPhone and focuses on its features

In the US, the Samsung Galaxy S IV is yet to arrive. Well, the device is yet to see daylight in store shelves actually. Anyway, Samsung already have their TV ads for their superphone read for airing. Last year, with the Galaxy S III, Samsung's ads for the smartphone was all about mockery against the competition. This year, Samsung forgoes mocking them and focuses on the features of the device. Watch these ads right after the break.

Globe to launch the Galaxy S IV in May

The Samsung Galaxy S IV will be available in the Philippines because it just cannot happen that the superphone won't arrive in the country. Globe is the first carrier to announce that they will be offering the device sometime in May. Yup, no exact date when it will be available, unfortunately. In the Philippines, pre-orders is not a thing here that happens everyday and I don't know why, so you cannot pre-order the Galaxy S IV a month or so before it will become available. But, you can register your interest of it which means you'd get an email that it has arrived.

UK: The Samsung Galaxy S IV up for pre-orders in the UK via Clove and Three

It is not only in the US that's going to have a pre-order party for the Samsung Galaxy S IV because in the UK, Three UK and Clove have put the Galaxy S IV up for pre-order. Of course, the former is a carrier while the latter is a seller so the pricing are different. Three UK is offering the SGS IV on two different plans which will require you to sign a contract with them. Clove on the other hand is offering the device for £579.99 (VAT inclusive). I do not know with the other carriers in the UK if they are now accepting pre-orders of the device too. Might want to check their websites for that.

US: T-Mobile USA to launch the Samsung Galaxy S IV in May 1

As announced, US' 4th largest carrier, T-Mobile, will be the first carrier to launch Samsung's newest baby, their newest Android flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S IV. Announced at a special event in New York a few weeks back, the Galaxy S IV will be offered by T-Mobile on contract. The Best smartphone for 2013 - The Samsung Galaxy S IV

Samsung, earlier in New York, unveiled what looks to me as the best smartphone for 2013. The next iteration of the successful Galaxy S line of Android smartphones, the Galaxy S IV. Well, what would you expect from a stellar phonemaker with its latest update for a stellar line of devices? A more stellar device, 4 times to be exact. Albeit the phone looks just like the S III, I have to say, the S IV's design is said to be slimmer and lighter than that of what it precedes. By the way, the Galaxy S IV, is the world's first 8-core powered smartphone.
