Samsung wins 5 awards during MWC 2013 and announced 213 million smartphones shipped in 2012

At MWC 2013, Samsung has announced only two hardware devices, if I am not mistaken, the Galaxy Note 8.0 and the HomeSync. The Korean-giant at least, did not go home quietly, though. They bagged 5 wards at MWC given by GSMA. One is the "Best Smartphone of the Year" which was voted to be the Samsung Galaxy S III. The Samsung Galaxy Camera bagged the "Best Mobile Enabled Consumer Electronics Device". Samsung's Smart LTE Network bagged two awards namely, the "Best Mobile Infrastructure" and the "Outstanding Overall Mobile Technology – The CTO’s choice".

Samsung itself was voted by GSMA as the "Device Manufacturer of the Year" award which I believe will make Samsung very proud. It's like the "Best Picture" award at the Oscars of the "Album of the Year" at the Grammy's.

Aside from these proud moments from Samsung, the Korean-conglomerate announced that in 2012 they have shipped a whopping 213 million smartphones globally. Samsung takes 30.4% of the global marketshare for smartphones. Making them the leader in the smartphone world.

And finally, Samsung has sent a more accurate invite for their March 14 event. The announcement of the Galaxy S IV will happen on New York's Time Square! In the middle of it all! 7PM EST.
