Samsung announces the 16MP & 13MP ISOCELL CMOS Image sensors

16MP ISOCELL CMOS Image Sensor
Other deep (since these are things you do not see from the outside of a device) things that Samsung has announced in Barcelona is their ISOCELL image sensors. If you have read this article by me then you can stop reading now and proceed to other Samsung news within this blog. Or you can continue.

Samsung has announced their 13MP and 16MP ISOCELL CMOS image sensors. Samsung's ISOCELL technology increases the sensor's light sensitivity and effectively controls the collection of electrons (that is what their official announcement said).

Samsung launched ISOCELL a new image sensor technology for mobile devices

Yesterday, Samsung launched a new image sensor that is bound to be found in their high-end mobile devices in the future. The new technology basically goes away of the current trend of Back Side Illumination (BSI) which is found inside the Galaxy S 4 and the Galaxy Note III. According to Samsung, ISOCELL "technology forms a physical barrier between neighboring pixels – isolating the pixel. This isolation enables more photons to be collected from the micro-lens and absorbed into the correct pixel’s photodiode minimizing undesired electrical crosstalk between pixels and allowing expanded full well capacity (FWC)."

Samsung Premiere: The Samsung Galaxy NX Android camera with changeable lens

The only device that Samsung announced with the "Galaxy" on its name, the Samsung Galaxy NX. I do not think this is the successor to the Galaxy Camera, This camera belongs to a different segment of the market or category. According to Samsung (because I am not an expert in Cameras) this is the world's first 3G/4G LTE connected Compact System Camera (CSC). I don't know what camera owns the crown of the world's first Android powered CSC with interchangeable lens. But anyway, this is brilliant. You can just see how Samsung is pushing it to the boundaries with their devices and doing crazy stuff (that might actually work). Samsung Camera/Imaging is a nobody in the camera world, I believe, because this market is taken by either Nikon or Canon but eventually Samsung will get their. Anyway, this camera runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and all the amazing things a CSC should offer (you see? I ain't an expert). With regards to its availability and pricing we still do not have anything.

Samsung announced the WiFi-only variant of the Galaxy Camera

Samsung has announced a WiFi-only variant of the Galaxy Camera. What this means is that this version of the camera will not sport 3G/4G connectivity, only WiFi. That would then lead to the camera's price to be lower than its brethren that sports the 3G/4G connectivity. What this also means is that the device would then need lesser battery for its connectivity functions, apparently. Anyway, everything else, specs-wise, will be the same with the 3G/4G variant of the device. Or maybe not, the specs were not disclosed so I am left to that statement.

Samsung Galaxy Camera technical specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Camera is probably Samsung's first Camera ported with the most popular mobile platform, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It's a device with all the features of a fully-working and a full-pledged camera but it can also connect to the internet not only via WiFi but through 4G LTE connectivity. This, probably is the only Camera in the world that can send upload your photos from it via a network carrier.
