Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - Specifications & Features

The next generation Galaxy Note device has been announced in Berlin at Samsung's UNPACKED 2014 Episode 2 event. For those who watched the unveiling and presentation of the device, you might consider this device as a minor update from the Note 3. But I would say that the real upgrades from the Note 3 to the Note 4 are in the inside. Like the Note 4's S Pen which is touted by Samsung to be twice more sensitive than that of the Note 3's "making writing with the S Pen feel like the real thing." Improvements to the Multi-Window have also been taken into consideration in the never ending quest of Samsung's refining process of their flagship devices. The Galaxy Note 4 is also Samsung's first Note device to sport 1440p display or Quad HD or 2560x1440 native display resolution. Also the device has been packed with the things that the consumers have loved about the Galaxy S 5, like the fingerprint scanner and of course the heart-rate sensor (which also doubles as a camera shutter button on the Note 4).

Design wise, the Galaxy Note 4 follows the Galaxy Alpha's aesthetics. That means that, like the Galaxy Alpha, the Galaxy Note 4 sports a metallic frame. Samsung have decided to just keep the faux leather back cover for the Note line, which I like (it gives the device a premium feeling).

As soon as Samsung puts the official hands-on video of the Galaxy Note 4, I will be sharing that with you so that you will be able to see what the Note 4's new features actually mean. It is different and difficult to describe the new things that the device sports in words I think it is best that you can see them (if you have not watched the event).

But before I end this post, there are two things I want to put into words about the new device. First, the Note 4's 3.7MP (the largest in any Samsung device) is built for selfies (even the device's rear-camera has a feature for selfies too). Aside from optimizing the front cam for the selfie shot, the camera also has this feature called Wide Selfie imagine it as a panoramic shot for the front camera.

Second, the Note 4 is a 4G LTE device whichever CPU your region will carry. That means, finally, Samsung's Exnos (5433 for the Note 4), which by the way are Octa-core APs, have 4G LTE support. So, why does the Note 4 have two variants? The SM-N910C have the Exynos processor while the SM-N910S have the Snapdragon but they support different categories of LTE so that would vary from your country's or carrier's network. Some have Cat 6 and others have Cat 4. That is where the difference is.

As for the availability of the device, Samsung will be launching the Galaxy Note 4 globally starting next month, October, and will be available in "Charcoal black", "Frost white", "Bronze gold", and "Blossom Pink".
