The Samsung Galaxy S III receives the Carbon Trust Standard certification

Two Samsung Android smartphones have been given a distinct award by the Carbon Trust Standard. These Samsung devices are the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Samsung Galaxy Ace Duo. These two devices were given by the UK-based Carbon Trust Certification to PAS 2050 which is the global standard for measuring the greenhouse gas emissions directly or indirectly made by the product. That means from the production up to the point where the device is already bought and used by a user.

"Three years ago, in 2009, Samsung introduced its Green Management strategy, as part of Samsung’s Planet First initiative. Since then, Samsung has developed innovative solutions for environmentally friendly products. As part of this, Samsung reviews the production, usage and end-of-life disposal of its handsets." -Samsung
