The Samsung GamePad

After the success of Samsung's first attempt on a SmartWatch, the Galaxy Gear, the Global-giant has just announced the Samsung GamePad. As the name implies it's a game pad where you can put ur Samsung Galaxy devices on to and then play games with it. As a peripheral device, it will automatically transform your Galaxy device into one of, if not the best, portable gaming console you ever have. The GamePad communicated with your mobile device using Bluetooth technology so you can connect your GamePad wirelessly. Additionally, you can connect your smartphone/tablet to a TV via an HDMI cable or AllShare Screen Mirroring for a much immersive gaming experience.

Yup! Remember the Google Play Edition of the Galaxy S IV? Well, if you own one or two, then rejoice, since Google has started rolling out its Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update. You probably got the update already since this news is already about a day old but if you still do not have the update, then simply check it manually. Tap through Settings > About Phone > Software Update. Cheers!

Samsung has sold 10 million Galaxy Note IIIs in just 2 months

The mean, badass, and the most amazing mobile device to have hit this planet has reached the 10 million units sold mark, according to Samsung. Samsung Global has posted on their website an infographic remembering which of their phones have sold 10 million units. Samsung is really on a roll here. Just this year, in January, Samsung announced that they have already sold 100,000,000 Galaxy S smartphones. That number includes the original Galaxy S, the Galaxy S II, and the Galaxy S III. That number will only have to grow since it still does not include the Galaxy S IV

The Samsung Galaxy Grand II

Who said that Samsung's 2013 is done with the launching of the Galaxy Note III? I did, and I know I am wrong. This probably won't be their last phone for this year. I was already wrong with the Note 3. Anyway, today, Samsung has announced the successor to one of its most popular smartphones out there with a screen that is bigger than 5-inches. The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 might look like it's predecessor but as you will see with the photo below it goes away with the plastic rear panel and in with the, and taking note from the Note 3, a leather-like rear panel. No word yet on where and when the device will be available. But I will have to peg it that the Korean-giant will be launching this device in Asia, Europe, and Other regions within the Holidays. Also, this device is officially Samsung's second device to run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean right from the box.

Samsung Galaxy Note II LTE (GT-N7105) starts receiving Android 4.3 update

Samsung is now rolling out the much awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Note II. Although this update is only for the LTE variant of the phablet with a model number of GT-N7105. Also, this update is pushed only in the Nordic countries which include (for those who does not know) Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. For those who are not from these countries but own a Note II with that model number (or simply the LTE variant) then there is really no harm in checking if you have the update too and if you do, please comment if you have it and which country you come from. Cheers!

Samsung is preparing to mass produce AMOLED displays with 560ppi for 2014

A report, an insider report if you may, said that Samsung is ready to mass produce AMOLEDs with 560ppi for next year. This report follows a previous report that Samsung plans to put an AMOLED display on the Galaxy S V with a resolution that surpasses today's Android standard of 1080p. According to SamMobile, these screens will be 5-inches in size which would equate to a screen resolution of a whopping 2560x1440. By the looks of it and if this report holds water, then it looks like Samsung's 2014 flagship smartphone will be the first to get it.

The Samsung made Google Nexus 10 starts getting Android 4.4 KitKat

The Google Nexus 10, which is manufactured by Samsung, has started receiving it's own fair share of the KitKat goodness. Being a Nexus device, it is expected that it is one of the devices that will automatically get the latest version of Android available. According to the official tweet from Android, "Starting today, Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013) and Nexus 10 will be getting a tasty update to Android 4.4, KitKat". For those who owns a Nexus 10, you probably received an update notification and should already have it but for those who has not then simply check for any software updates via Settings > About Device. Cheers!

Samsung Galaxy Gear will be compatible with the Galaxy S IV, Note II and more

Samsung's first attempt of a SmartWatch, the Galaxy Gear, will be compatible with more devices aside from the Galaxy Note III. This isn't news actually because Samsung announced this back when they were introducing the Gear, Note III, and the Note 10.1 (2014) but anyway, since Samsung posted a presser about it probably because a lot of reports said that the Gear will not be compatible with other Galaxy devices. Samsung on their presser, said that the Galaxy Gear support will come with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to other Galaxy devices.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update starts rolling out to the Galaxy S IV

According to SamMobile, the LTE variant of the Samsung Galaxy S IV (I9500) has started receiving the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. From the same report, the update is first pushed in Russia and the Indian market should also be expecting it. The update will first be available to those Galaxy S IVs that are SIM-free (not from a carrier). The update will come with Samsung KNOX and of course, support for the Galaxy Gear among other features that will be added onto the device (like reading mode). If you are a proud owner of the smartphone and bears the same model number then there is no harm in actually checking if the update has arrived on your device.

Samsung Galaxy Round - world's first device to incorporate a curved HD Super AMOLED display

You probably have already heard a lot about Samsung and even LG launching their first curved smartphones within this year, right? Samsung's display displays division has already announced earlier this year that they will be mass producing their Flexible Super AMOLED displays within this year. Samsung has solidified that fact by announcing the world's first mobile device to incorporate the Flexible AMOLED display, the Samsung Galaxy Round. The device, which I believe, is basically the Galaxy Note III just with a different screen, this time a curved one and with a curved display comes a curved design aesthetics of the hardware itself. The phablet or smartphone, whatever you would like to call it, sports a 5.7" HD Super AMOLED display, runs on Android (probably 4.3 Jelly Bean9), sports the same leather backing the Note III has, and also sports a microUSB 3.0 port (as seen in photo). The Galaxy Round is expected to be available in South Korea starting tomorrow and for the rest of the world, Samsung did not say anything. They probably are still testing the water on how the market will be accepting this device first in their home turf.

Samsung ChatON reaches 100 million users

Samsung has announced that their very own instant messaging service, ChatON, has reached 100 million users around the world. Samsung ChatON is a service launched by the Korean giant back in 2011. Unlike BBM, back then, and iMessage, this service or app is available in all platforms you can probably think of. From Android to BlackBerry and even on your very own PC, ChatON aims to be able to give its users the ability to chat/communicate with anybody regardless of the phone or device he/she is using.

Smart Communications to offer the Galaxy Note III

After Globe announced that they will be offering the Galaxy Note III soon, the country's largest mobile carrier is offering the newest phablet from Samsung too. Unlike Globe's offer which you can bundle-in the Galaxy Gear, Smart's seems to do not include the smartwatch. But unlike Globe, Smart gave us an idea on which plans the Galaxy Note III will come for free. The phablet will be free with the Unli Postpaid Plan 2000 or the All-in Plan 2500.

Samsung launched ISOCELL a new image sensor technology for mobile devices

Yesterday, Samsung launched a new image sensor that is bound to be found in their high-end mobile devices in the future. The new technology basically goes away of the current trend of Back Side Illumination (BSI) which is found inside the Galaxy S 4 and the Galaxy Note III. According to Samsung, ISOCELL "technology forms a physical barrier between neighboring pixels – isolating the pixel. This isolation enables more photons to be collected from the micro-lens and absorbed into the correct pixel’s photodiode minimizing undesired electrical crosstalk between pixels and allowing expanded full well capacity (FWC)."

The Samsung Galaxy Note III and the Galaxy Gear is coming to the Philippines Sept. 28th for 36,990 and 13,990, respectively

Samsung Mobile Philippines' Facebook page has finally announced the coming of the coveted Galaxy Note III and its companion watch, the Galaxy Gear. According to news I have received, Samsung will be holding an event during its global launching of the device in the Philippines and that will happen on September 25, 2013. The devices will then be available starting September 28 and Samsung has something for those who have been waiting for these gadgets.

Canada and the UK? The Galaxy Note III is coming too!

Samsung's UK website has this on! Apparently, the Galaxy Note III will be coming to the Kingdom by September 25 together with the Galaxy Gear. The website is also accepting pre-orders of these devices. For those who wants to own one on that day, then head over here. For pricing in the UK, the Galaxy Note III is up for grabs for £649 while the Galaxy Gear will be priced at  £299. Together you can get them at £849. In Canada, Telus will be offering the device for $299 (Canadian) with a 2-year contract.

The Samsung Galaxy Note III will come to all the major carriers in the US

Good news for those who are in the US! The Samsung Galaxy Note III is coming to all the major carriers in the country. So far all of them has revealed how much the phablet will cost on contract except for Sprint which still may have to decide how much they will be offering the device. Verizon and AT&T will be selling the Galaxy Note III for $299.99 with a 2-year contract. The largest US carrier, Verizon, is also offering the phablet bundled with the Galaxy Gear for $599.98 still on a 2-year contract. T-Mobile on the other hand will be offering the Note III for just $199.99 on contract. You can register your interest here on T-Mobile and Sprint.

The Samsung Galaxy Note III

And here it is, Samsung's most amazing device ever since its conception, the Samsung Galaxy Note III. The Galaxy Note 3 alongside the Galaxy Note 10.1 is Samsung's first mobile device to sport a leather back panel complete with the stitches detail. The phablet will come in 3 different colors, apparently, black, white, and pink. The announcement of this device during the event was, for me, short. Samsung has focused on the S Pen and all the other Note exclusive features the line has. Well it fits, because whatever the Galaxy S IV has the Note III has plus the S Pen and the great compatibility this device has with the Galaxy Gear. There was pretty much no need for them to dwell with the other features because they were already demo-ed back when the Galaxy S 4 was announced. The S Pen and the exclusive Note line features on the GN 3 includes, Air Command, which uses the S Pen to open up options even without touching the screen. The new GN 3 and the software it has features a better Multi Window feature. The Multi Window can now handle 2 windows of the same app opened and there has the cool drag between windows feature that I was actually looking for on the GN 2. Anyway, these features will definitely come to the GN 2. Samsung also announced that the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note II will both get the 4.3 update come October. With regards to the device's availability, the GN 3 will be launched together with the Galaxy Gear to more than 140 countries worldwide in September 25, 2013.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition)

The next device that was announced during the Samsung Unpacked Episode 2 event in Berlin was the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition). The GN 10.1 2014 sports the same specifications as the GN 3 the only difference is that the GN 10.1 only has an 8MP rear shooter and some other sensors that the GN 3 has while this tablet does not. Everything else, are totally the same, from RAM to CPU they are the same. Of course, the GN 10.1 does not sport the same display as the GN 3, apparently, this is way bigger than the GN 3 and is only sorting a Super Clear display rather than a Super AMOLED display. Nonetheless, this tablet, is a stunner. It has a leather backing like the GN 3 and a screen resolution fit for a huge display. The tablet will be available in the 3rd quarter of this year with no exact date. But I'm pretty sure this tablet will sell, because by specs alone and the feature it offers, it is bound to be a seller.

The Samsung Galaxy Gear

The Samsung Unpacked Episode 2 event in Berlin, Germany has just ended and there were 3 devices that Samsung announced. One of them is this, the Samsung Galaxy Gear. The smartwatch that has been roaming around the rumor and leak mills until today. The Galaxy Gear, it appears, does not run on any mobile OS whatsoever. It must be running on a Samsung proprietary OS. It does not look like it runs on Android and on the specs sheet of the device it does not say Android or whatever. Anyway, the way Samsung introduced this device during the event was that it is supposed to be a great companion to the Galaxy Note III. Of course, you cans till buy a Galaxy Gear and still use it with your, let's say, Galaxy S 3, 4 or the Galaxy Note II.

Samsung makes its Android flip phone official, at least in China

After churning around the rumor mill, Samsung has finally made this little thing official. Samsung's newest Android smartphone dubbed as the Samsung W789 (Hennessy) is real and seems like to be sold only in China (as of now). The Chinese Samsung website showcases the device and is probably (I'm pretty sure) Samsung's first ever Flip phone that runs on Android. News about the device being sold in other countries is yet to be known and if this device will be displayed during IFA 2013 in Berlin. Anyway, what is important is that the rumors have been true. With regards to specs, I do not have the full list of it but I will just enumerate them as per the Samsung China website.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 3G version reportedly starts getting the Android 4.2.2 JB update

After the 4G LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has received its share of the Android 4.2.2 love from Samsung, the 3G version of the tablet has also started getting the said update. The report came from a Note 8.0 user who is in Germany so the update probably started there and eventually will end up to all the Note 8s around the world. For those who own a Note 8.0, you might want to manually check for an update it might be available for you already.

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Note 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 starts rolling out

Every Samsung device that did not run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean from the box was suppose to get the update around July or August but you probably read rumors about Samsung skipping the said version of Android to the Galaxy Note II and the Galaxy S III. Those two devices are expected to skip 4.2 and directly get Android 4.3 and that probably would happen a month or so after the Note III has been announced (or maybe within September). Anyway, all the other Samsung devices, including those in the photo, the Galaxy Note 8.0 and the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 are reported to have started receiving the said update.

Google Play Edition Samsung Galaxy S IV's Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update rolls out

Together with the HTC One (Google Play Edition), the Samsung Galaxy S IV Google Play Edition is also getting it's fair share of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. The software is being pushed to these devices via OTA, which mean your device should notify you if an available update is ready to be downloaded and installed. For those who still did not get the notification may want to manually check it via Settings > About Phone. The update for the SGS IV Google Play is 180MB so this update is best downloaded while connected to a WiFi network.

The Samsung made Nexus 10 and Galaxy Nexus (HSPA) starts getting the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update

The Samsung-made Nexus 10 and the Galaxy Nexus are also getting the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update along side the Nexus 4 and the original Nexus 7. The update will come and will be administered via OTA and Google has started pushing it across the globe.  So for those of you Samsung users who own these devices should probably start checking it manually if it has not yet come to you via a notification. For those own a Nexus 10 might want to check the "Restricted Profiles" feature that Google has for you. For more info of Android 4.3 JB, you can click the link above. Enjoy!

Samsung starts producing their 3GB LPDDR3 RAMs for mobile devices

Remember this news? If not, then good. This post would com as a disappointment if you knew Samsung announced that they will be producing 4G LPDDR3 RAMs for mobile devices. Apparently, with this post, Samsung actually, instead of a 4G, has started mass producing 3GB LPDDR3 RAMs. Still this is a first in the industry and for those who are anxious in waiting for the Galaxy Note III's announcement might be in for a real treat if Samsung decides to stuff these into the phablet. But anyway, the news for today is about these RAMs. Mass producing any component for mobile devices will always be a landmark for things to come in the future. So yup! I know you are excited, so am I. All rumors point to a September announcement of the phablet and as always I will be blogging about it if it does happen.

The Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5420 officially unveiled

It is pretty disappointing that the world's first 8-core mobile processor wasn't really a good one when it was discovered to have faulty design making the whole thing useless. Whilst Samsung Electronics denied that the Exynos 5 Octa 5410 had design issues and if they did do something to "repair" that fault would mean that their factories should also be redesigned for mass producing it (these are the news I was able to read on back when the issue was still hot on the iron). Samsung kept on denying that but it was evident that the system on chip is faulty because I do not think there is a Samsung Galaxy S 4 IV today that is being sold (officially) in a market that is being powered by the Exynos 5 Octa 5410. If there are, then I am pretty sure those are devices that got out of their hands. But anyway, the good thing is, Samsung has done something on that and made the processor even more powerful. Ladies and gentlemen, the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5420.

Samsung Galaxy S IV LTE-A

Samsung has announced in South Korea the world's first LTE-Advance capable smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S IV LTE-A. This announcement followed SK Telecoms accomplishment in finishing implementing the next generation in 4G LTE technology dubbed as the LTE-Advance network. So, for those who owns a Galaxy S IV and does not live in South Korea, relax. This device will not arrive in your country unless a carrier will offer LTE-A. In the Philippines this is awkward moment because the Philippines has just started building their LTE network. Anyway, In South Korea, SK Telecom is the only carrier (in the world too) to offer LTE-A which means the smartphone will only be offered by SK Telecom. This is also, so far, Samsung's most powerful smartphone since it sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. According to Samsung's presser, the device will be available in South Korea starting this summer in two colors, Arctic Blue and Red Aurora.

Samsung Premiere: The Samsung Galaxy NX Android camera with changeable lens

The only device that Samsung announced with the "Galaxy" on its name, the Samsung Galaxy NX. I do not think this is the successor to the Galaxy Camera, This camera belongs to a different segment of the market or category. According to Samsung (because I am not an expert in Cameras) this is the world's first 3G/4G LTE connected Compact System Camera (CSC). I don't know what camera owns the crown of the world's first Android powered CSC with interchangeable lens. But anyway, this is brilliant. You can just see how Samsung is pushing it to the boundaries with their devices and doing crazy stuff (that might actually work). Samsung Camera/Imaging is a nobody in the camera world, I believe, because this market is taken by either Nikon or Canon but eventually Samsung will get their. Anyway, this camera runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and all the amazing things a CSC should offer (you see? I ain't an expert). With regards to its availability and pricing we still do not have anything.

Samsung Premiere: The Samsung ATIV Q - Windows 8 and Android in one device

To sum up all of the Windows 8 devices that Samsung announced at the Samsung Premiere 2013 Galaxy and ATIV is the Samsung ATIV Q. It's a hybrid and runs on two OS-es either Windows 8 or Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This is not new, remember when Asus announced their own device like this? But the Asus Windows-Android Hybrid was huge. Samsung's interpretation of this market (those who wants to get a device that can run on both OS-es and use both OS-es apps) is much smaller than that of Asus's. The ATIV Q sports a 13.3" touchscreen display with a resolution of 3200x1800 which gives us a 275ppi. Brilliant, for something that big?

Samsung Premiere: Samsung ATIV Tab 3 brings along the S-Pen

Now for tablets. Samsung announced the Samsung ATIV Tab 3 which now comes with an S-Pen. This is good because Sammy is not making the S-Pen experience exclusive to the Note line of devices. Now a Windows 8 running tablet can simply slide out the S-Pen and just make magic with it. The ATIV Tab 3 sports a brilliant design that follows, yet again, the Galaxy line sans the Android of course. Anyway, this device comes with SideSync, full Windows capabilities, and the portability of a 550g tablet.

Samsung Premiere: The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus

Now this is a PC. The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus a high-performance PC that incorporates Intel's newest technology of their CPUs dubbed as the Haswell. I needed to Google what Samsung was trying to say when it put ULT on the product specs because I did not know what Haswell was. Anyway, I confirmed it by myself that this PC running on Windows 8 with a 13.3" QHD+ (3200x1800) resolution is being powered by either an Intel Core i5/i7 ULT processor.

Samsung Premiere: The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite

Next we have the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite which is a less spec-ed PC compared to it's more powerful brother that I will be posting about after this. The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite sports the same display as it's bigger brother but sports a 256GB SSD and a display that is of the same size but of a lesser resolution (1366x768). Since all of these PCs run on Windows 8 they all sport touchscreen displays.

Samsung Premiere: The Samsung ATIV One 5 Style AIO

The event that happened last nigh was called the Samsung Premiere 2013 Galaxy and ATIV. Basing on the name of event itself it is clear that Samsung will be announcing devices that will add up on its ATIV branding of PCs, Tablets, and whatnot. This device right here is one of them. Dubbed as the Samsung ATIV One 5 Style this All-In-One PC is an Ultra Slim PC that runs on Windows 8 and is being powered by an AMD quad-core processor. The design aesthetics used on this device, according to the presser, is from their Galaxy line of devices. Date of launch and pricing are still undisclosed, as always.

Samsung announced 5 more colors of the Galaxy S IV

I deliberately did not watch Samsung's Premiere Event last night because I was very sleepy and all. Anyway, here is one of the many things they announced yesterday. The Samsung Galaxy S IV will be getting five new colors namely Blue Arctic, Purple Mirage, Red Aurora, Brown Autumn, and Pink Twilight. Currently, the Red Aurora of the Galaxy S IV is being sold by AT&T in the US and the Blue Arctic is being sold in Japan. But do not expect that all of these colors will be available everywhere. Base on experience, Samsung seems to select the markets where they will be selling all of the colors of one specific device. In the Philippines, a differently colored S III was as rare as a blue iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy S IV Zoom

Well, turns out rumors are being confirmed. Today, Samsung announced the Galaxy S IV Zoom. The smartphone that is kind of like the Galaxy Camera but of lower specs to that behemoth and of course with the phone capabilities. The device, together with the Galaxy S IV Mini and the Galaxy S IV Active will all be showcased in Samsung's Premiere event in June 20 of this year. With regards to the device's price and date of launch there is no word, as usual. But anyway, this device is more of like just a camera more than a smartphone. If I were to choose between this and the Galaxy Camera? I'd go for the latter since it is a powerhouse when it comes to specs and considering that I do not need another smartphone. But for those who wants a device capable taking amazing photos and a smartphone then this is the device to go for unless you want to go Nokia.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 3

Samsung has unveiled the next iteration of the Galaxy Ace. It is the 3rd Galaxy Ace and is rightfully named as the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3. The device is a very good improvement from what it precedes. It has a 4G LTE variant and a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU for the 4G variant. No word yet on when and how much the phone is but it will surely come in both 3G and 4G versions that would depend on the market where Samsung will sell the device. Expect it too that it will be launched globally.

The Samsung Galaxy S IV Active

Ahead of Samsung's June 20, 2013 Samsung Premiere event in London, the Korean giant announced the Samsung Galaxy S IV Active. We all know that the water resistant and rugged smartphones have become somewhat important now in the market because if it isn't nobody would make one. I believe Sony Mobile spearheaded this water resistant-of-it-all craze with their Sony Xperia Z. So to just respond to Sony, Samsung created what I believe is a beautiful smartphone in terms of design. The device The Galaxy S IV Active is IP67 certified (IP68 is the highest rating). With that said, this device debunks the Xperia Z in terms of water resistance (if that is even a word).

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1

Here is the bigger brother of the Galaxy Tab 3 8, the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. Unlike the GT38, this tablet does not seem to be powered by the Intel Atom processor which is a shame, I believe. With both devices announced I think Samsung has done a pretty good job in terms of design but as always, the Galaxy Tab line of tablets from Sammy does not really shine that much. If you come to think about it, both the GT38 and GT310.1 have lower specs compared to the Galaxy Note 8.0 but anyhow the Galaxy Tab line of tablets is still a good tablet if you are in the market looking for one. It is still Samsung's main tablet line and will try to compete with other tablets out there.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8

Samsung has announced the update to their Galaxy Tab line of Android Tablets. After announcing the Galaxy Tab 3 7 back in April, the world's largest smartphone maker announced the world's first tablet to run on an Intel Atom processor. This device, instead being an update to a previous tablet is a new variant of the Galaxy Tab line. The specs, for me is "OK", not really spectacular but I still need to read about the performance of these Intel Atom processors work its magic on Android devices. Anyway, Samsung did not give out when the device will be launch and where it will be launch including its pricing.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 Mini

Samsung is already making this a tradition. After the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini and after announcing their 2013 Android flagship, the Galaxy S IV, Samsung has finally announced the next iteration of the Galaxy S Mini line of smartphones. Dubbed, obviously, as the Samsung Galaxy S IV Mini, the device has probably a lot of first from the Korean smartphone giant. The SGS 4 Mini is probably Samsung's first device to sport a Super AMOLED display that has a qHD (960x540) resolution and probably is also the world's first smartphone to sport a 1.5GB RAM. As what Samsung was trying to say to the world with the SGS 3 Mini, the SGS 4 Mini is almost exactly half of its bigger brother the SGS 4. Unlike the SGS 3 Mini, I am not disappointed with this device right here. Why? First, it comes in two versions a 3G variant and a 4G LTE variant. Second, the two versions will come with either a 1.5GB RAM (3G) and 2GB of RAM (4G LTE) which is neat because this is supposed to be a lower-end smartphone (if it ain't the Galaxy S it ain't a high-end smartphone). So yup! I love the device and I would definitely recommend this to those who are looking for a smartphone with almost all of the SGS 4's features sans the SGS 4's hefty price.

Samsung to unveil devices come June 20 - Galaxy and ATIV line of devices

Samsung has sent out invites for a special event come Jun 20th in London. The event is called Samsung Premier 2013 (and will probably start a tradition after the Unpacked events). Base on the invitation itself, it is clear that Samsung will be announcing a Windows device(s) and a Galaxy (Android) device(s). About what these things are, I have no idea but to follow what the rumor mill has been churning up, it seems Samsung will be announcing a Windows 8 PC and/or a tablet and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom. I posted on my Facebook that this event might also unveil the Galaxy Note 3, which is really exciting if that holds water but if not then we will just have to wait for Samsung's next major unveiling event.

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 is the world's first TCO certified smartphone

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 is the world's first smartphone to receive the TCO Certification. TCO Development is an independent body that gives out awards or certifications to devices that meet their sustainability in the IT industry. TCO Development is a young group that was, I believe, created 15 years ago. In those 15 years or so, the Galaxy S 4 is the first smartphone to have received their certification.

Samsung rolls out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the Galaxy Music

Remember this Galaxy device? The Galaxy Music? If you own one, then rejoice! Samsung has started to roll out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for this little fellow. The update is still being released in the UK at this moment but expect other parts of the world to start receiving it too soon. For those who are in the UK, the update can be downloaded via OTA or via Samsung Kies it's your choice.

Samsung sold 10 million Galaxy S 4s in 1 month

Samsung, on their Samsung Mobile Press site, announced that their 2013 Android flagship device has reached the 10 million units sold mark within 1 month from the time it became available. With that announcement, the Galaxy S 4 set a new record being Samsung's fastest selling Galaxy S ever. The first Galaxy S did great in terms of sales then came the Galaxy S 2 which sold faster than the S1 and yet the S3 stole the crown from the S2 as Samsung's fastest selling Galaxy S device ever and today the S4 stole it yet again from its predecessor. The Galaxy S 4 is the world's first device to sport Samsung's very own full HD Super AMOLED display. This news goes to show that Samsung is really the king of Android, which HTC wore for years. HTC on the other hand announced that they have already sold 5 million HTC Ones.

Google announced a Pure Android Samsung Galaxy S 4

During Google I/O 2013's first day, Google announced that they will be selling a very delicious smartphone starting June in the US. The smartphone is Samsung's 2013 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S IV. And I know sammyfans, it's not that we don't like TouchWiz but Android in itself is great! And yes, Google will be selling the device, rumored to be the Galaxy S IV Nexus Edition, to run on Android's Stock OS (no UIs whatsoever).

The Samsung Galaxy Core

Samsung has announced a new Android smartphone dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy Core. The device is not a high-end device. You will be able to see that when you check on its specs below. Anyway, the Galaxy Core comes with a Dual-SIM variant and thus is dubbed as the Galaxy Core Duos. It has a 4.3" display, runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. With regards of its availability, I believe Samsung will be launching this device in countries like the Philippines, India, and China. They did not say anything about where they will be launching it on their presser. Anyway, the specifications are after the break.

Samsung starts producing 4GB LPDDR3 RAMs for mobile devices!

Samsung announced on their global blog, Samsung Tomorrow, that one of Samsung Group's arms, Samsung Semiconductors Corporation has started producing the industry's first 4GB LPDDR3 DRAM for mobile  devices. Of course, this is great news because Samsung is yet to announce the Galaxy Note 3. Rumor has it that Samsung will totally give the next iteration of the world's first phablet a new look. That means that the Galaxy Note 3 might run away from the design aesthetics of the 2012 and 2013 even that of the Galaxy S 4. With Samsung's announcement and unveiling of the Exynos 5 Octa (world's first 8-core app processor) and now this, the first 4GB DRAM these things should, and I say should, be in the Galaxy Note 3.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7

Samsung has announced what seems to be, base on the name, the next iteration of the Galaxy Tab line of tablets. This is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (7-inch) tablet that most blogs has already tagged as another boring Android tablet. Anyway, what is very sad about this "iteration" is that it still is powered by a dual-core processor. So basically with the Galaxy Tab line of tablets, Samsung is yet to announce a quad-core tablet. It has only been the Galaxy Note 8 and 10.1 that sported a quad-core CPU. This is sad. No wonder why blogs say this is another of Samsung's trolling devices. The Galaxy Tab 3 7 (WiFi only) will be available globally in May and the 3G enabled version of it will be available starting June.
